Just a few days late :P Sorry for the delay, things have been a little hectic. We want to thank everyone for all their warm thoughts and prayers as we well needed it. It was a long labor, yet fast and furious delivery. Audrey Nalia was born August 27 @ 3:31am weighing in @ 7lbs 12oz and 22 inches long. It's hard to believe that ALL that fit inside of me!!

Mama, Papa and baby are all doing well and adjusting to the wonderful world of parenthood. It is truly a blessing and amazing experience.

As many of you well know, were expecting our first baby in about 4 weeks. Its a very exciting time in our lives and it brings us bittersweet news to let you know that Sunday, July 26th will be our last day on Fourth Street as a retail location. Its been a great 5 years getting to know many of you (many by name, some by facial recognition, some by their consistent ordering patterns,etc. ) and seeing many of your children grow from the womb on up to being able to see over the counter :P

Sketch was our "first baby" and all the heart, love, soul and energy we put into that we'd like to re-focus and give to our child. Family always comes first with us! Sketch isn't disappearing...it's just taking a lil break from the retail aspect. We look forward to serving you our goodies (candies, pastries, sauces/fixins, ice cream cakes and other custom orders) via online!!

From the bottom of our hearts we want to thank you for your patronage and support!

Much love goes out to all the mama's in this world... you sacrifice so much for us (starting with the 10 months of pregnancy :P) ! Where would we be without your unconditional love.

As much as we'd love to spend our day with our own mother's (who are both out of town) we're still excited because this will be our first mother-to-be/father-to-be days as well as my expecting sister and brother in law! Happy Mother's Day!

It's been a long time...

It's been a crazy busy 2009 start for us. Our anticipated January vacation plans were put on hold to help with the preparations of my favorite brother's wedding ( he's my only brother ;P ) It was a fairly intimate wedding, about 150 people... which is pretty good considering I'm Filipino! Its always nice to see family and friends. Here are some pix of the happy SWA couple, courtesy of their photographer Serena Grace. Welcome to the family Dee!

And for dessert... we made dark chocolate cupcakes topped with a cocoa nib mousse. Delish!!

HAPPY 2009!!

We hope everyone had a fabulous New Year's. We sure did! Though it's a little strange for us to start the new year without a vacation (many of you regulars know that we wait all year for our January break) we're here at Sketch cranking out the goodies. So far, it's off to a good start!

So where are we going?? Good question. We're headed off to Simi Valley which is in SoCal. Whoppee!! :P Our plans of vacationing somewhere warm and tropical like South America or Costa Rica were sweet but short-lived. Engagements, weddings and baby showers (FYI: not ours) quickly filled our calender...which leaves us to postpone our plans and divvy up our vacation time--end of January and middle of March. Details as follows:
We will be closed from Thursday,, January 22nd - Sunday, February 1st, 2009. Re-open Monday, February 2nd.

Please keep in mind that if you would like to order an ice cream cake before our break, the last day to order is Mon. January 19th.

Five years ago, we decided to use a small artisan coffee company called Blue Bottle, and many of you had the look of Blue who Bottle? Coffee, what?! Well, since then, they've grown into somewhat of a coffee cult in the Bay Area. Now everyone knows, serves and drinks Blue Bottle this and Blue Bottle that. It's been a great 5 years using their coffee in our granitas, ice creams and French Press; however, with their continuing plans of expansion and rapid growth, Sketch no longer met their criteria. Which brings us to Barefoot Coffee Company...

Their a great company committed to providing their customers with the best coffee, roasted to order, and shipped the same day to ensure freshness and quality. They roast every day. Santa's Wonderland on Fourth Street...

Holiday Happenings: Santa is coming to town!! Watch Santa arrive by fire engine at noon today 11/28. Take pictures with Santa, his elf and his big red sleigh Thursday-Sunday from 2-6pm now until December 23rd. Took a picture with him already? Other cool things to do: Donate this holiday season to less fortunate children and families.

There will be COMPLIMENTARY Hot Cider from us, Hot Chocolate from Bette's and Hot Tea from Teance today only from 5-6 pm. Come join us!!

Halloween on Fourth Street..

It's a little surprising (well not really) that with the number of kids and people that come down on this street that this was Fourth Street's first "trick-or-treat" celebration. We were a little skeptical at first because it was supposed to be a wet Halloween, but the rain held out so it ended up being a great turnout. We passed out our cocoa nib marshmallows...yum! Unfortunately, we ended up running out of marshmallows much earlier than expected because of the swarm of kids. Maybe next year they'll decide to make this event a little shorter...how about 3-6pm instead?

We will be closed Monday, September 22nd to Thursday, September 25th. We will re-open Friday the 26th. Don't say we didn't tell you so...

For the last 2 years, it's become our tradition to close on our anniversary. However, due to the leap year, our third year anniversary 10/4 falls on a Saturday (which, we know, for many people consider it their "weekend"). So the question remains: would there be tears shed if you came be and we were closed that Saturday? Would you understand or be pissed? Hmmmm. I guess there is another selfless option...we close early that day?!

Let us know what you think, but don't wait too long it's not that far away :P
